We employ a variety of people within
our company and there are opportunities that come up

Bakers
We employ bread, pastry and sweet product
bakers at our Parkhouse Rd bakery.
Our main bakehouse is in Parkhouse Rd and here we make
our pastry goods and in the evenings we make our breads
including a wide range of European breads.
We also offer apprenticeship opportunities for people
wanting to enter the industry.
Café Staff
At our 4 cafes we employ, Front of house staff, Barista’s,
Café Cooks, Café Managers and general
Café Assistants that may also involve some food
pre as well.
Some of our cafes are licensed so we also employ staff
with a General Managers Certificate.
Drivers and Support Staff
We also employ drivers to deliver our goods around
the greater Canterbury region and also office administration
staff to support our cafes and take orders for wholesale
and catering goods.
Hillyers has extensive staff training programmes available
and offers new staff good support within the company.
Because we are a large owner operated company, there
are many opportunities for promotion within the company
and also opportunities for apprenticeships for bakers
and training for café staff and cooking staff
so that employees are always gaining new skills and
enjoying new challenges.
This enables us to attract quality staff members and
to retain staff with sound skill base within the company.
